July 2023

It's JULY! You know what that means? We're just a few days out from Summer Camps! It's my favorite part of the whole year because it's when we get to hang out with all of our camp friends; whether they are kitchen volunteers, cabin leaders, or campers, they all come to camp and hang out with us. It also means we get to watch our favorite Bob Ditter staff training videos, but mostly we like getting to hang out with all of our favorite people and talk about our most favorite person, Jesus.

While Summer Camps are only four weeks of our year, I consider them the most important part. Summer camps are when we get to do our primary ministry. It is when we build up our future leaders by teaching them how to be cabin leaders and volunteer in the kitchen and joy shop. It is when we teach lots of kids, many of which do not attend church, all about God and why we do what we do. This year Summer Camps are going to be exploring Exodus 6:6-8 with the theme of "Trust the Promise."

6 “Therefore, say to the Israelites: ‘I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment.7 I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.8 And I will bring you to the land I swore with uplifted hand to give to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob. I will give it to you as a possession. I am the Lord.’”

We are going to be exploring these verses and the fact that God keeps promises. Just like God kept this promise to the Israelites and brought them into the Promised Land.
